Dear Camp Alumni, Donors and Supporters:
Arrive at Piomingo no later than 8:00 p.m. and enjoy a nice wagon ride to the quarry; of course, you can also make the walk if you prefer. The final campfire will begin at 8:45 p.m. sharp. Please RSVP to Piomingo@ymcacamppiomingo.org to let us know if you will be joining us to celebrate the end of another amazing summer.
We are having one of the best summers ever; we anticipate serving the largest number of campers in the last 15 years at Piomingo! The staff is doing a fantastic job caring for the many campers we have and are excited to finish the summer off strong. The new pool and waterslide have been a wonderful addition that campers and staff have both enjoyed!
We are looking forward to having you with us for this special celebration. Don’t miss it!
Noonway!

In memory of a wonderful person and Piomnigo alumni - John A. “Jack” Edwards by Pete Kirven (Camp Alumni)
Peter Burkhart – Camp Piomingo Volunteer of the Year
Peter and other volunteers, ranging from his friends to co-workers at St. Matthews Fence and Deck, spend time at Piomingo building wooden bunks. They have been doing great work and we appreciate all of Peter’s help with this great project. Creek unit will have new wooden bunks by this summer. We are very lucky to have Peter and his crew so passionate about helping Piomingo become better each year.
Katharine Hill- Spirit Campaigner of the Year
Katharine has successfully been fundraising for the Piomingo annual Spirit campaign. As a board member, Spirit Co-chair and the best campaigner for this year’s campaign, she has been calling previous donors, finding new people to help us achieve our goal and much more. We are very lucky to have Katharine so passionate about Piomingo and the Spirit campaign.

On May 31, 2008, over 350 former campers, staff, volunteers and other friends of camp reunited in the tradition of Native American lore and walked the grounds of Camp Piomingo to celebrate its’ 70th Birthday. Old friends, some with their families, gathered to share their stories, memorabilia and memories of how their experience at camp - changed their lives.
The magical aspect of camp was evident as generations blended as demonstrated by the look on young eighteen year old counselors’ faces as they intently listened to the stories of former leaders John Rowe, Terry Fuqua and Skip Vogelsang with stories from long ago. Camp truly is ageless
