Camp’s BEST SUMMER EVER in 2010!

Dear Parents,

We had a great summer at Camp Piomingo last year and enjoyed the enthusiasm each of our campers brought to our time together. We are now well into planning for Camp’s BEST SUMMER EVER in 2010!

We hope your camper(s) will return for another fantastic experience at Camp Piomingo this year and check out our new 3000 sq. ft. swimming pool and water slide! We’ve updated a lot this year, so campers will enjoy English horseback riding lessons, pipeline slide, kayaking, fishing, water trampoline, mountain biking, a ropes course and zip line, plus numerous adventure activities, crafts and so much more! Your friends old and new, along with your favorite counselors, will be here, too!

A $100 non refundable deposit per camper will reserve your bunk and you can choose the program or session at a later date in the New Year so you can best suit your schedule. Register online today…

Be sure to visit us at one or more of our upcoming open houses scheduled for:

Open houses are a great opportunity for new families to tour our facility, try some of the fun activities and meet the camp staff. It’s also a great opportunity for returning families to have some fun together as we will have our best summer camp counselors at our best summer camp activities leading them for the whole family to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to an open house, be sure to join us at 5:00pm on Sunday, May 16th for the 2nd Annual Camp Piomingo Alumni Cookout. Whether you were a camper, staff member or volunteer, you and your whole family are invited to the reunion festivities. Come meet the Camp Piomingo Board Members, play some fun games, eat some great food and see what’s new at camp for 2010.

Winter Camp 2009 a Success!

50 campers were in attendance over the weekend of December 11th - 13th for the Traditional and Equestrian Winter Camp programs. Along with a record breaking number of campers, 23 of Piomingo’s best summer camp counselors volunteered their time to make this the best winter camp yet.

The weather was great as the campers got to enjoy their favorite summer camp activities, plus a few new ones scheduled to debut this summer. The crowd favorite was an awesome wagon ride along the banks of the Ohio River filled with campers and staff singing their favorite camp songs.

Volunteer Day

Thanks to the 125 GE volunteers Camp Piomingo is making improvements for the many children we will serve this summer. We are proud of the relationship that is strengthening each time GE volunteers help make their way out to camp. As a follow up from the massive volunteer day in 2007, GE volunteers have once again astounded us with their expertise and dedication. We are excited about the new additions that include…

30 New Wooden Bunks built in the Mingo unit. (Second Unit completed with wooden bunks)
All Cabins in The Creek Unit freshly painted.
NEW Cabin Activity – The Gaga Pit
Corn hole playing areas in each unit.
New Cabin Activity – 3 duel Carpet Ball Tables
Barn stall Matting completed
Floor replacement in the entry way in Cabin 32

Camp Piomingo is also proud to announce the completion of the Creek Unit Bathhouse. This completes a two year plan to have all bathhouses in each unit renovated for our customers. All bathhouses, now have tile flooring, 8 shower stalls with changing areas, benches, sinks, lighting and new painting.
