- Four-week program
This program is designed to help teens develop leadership skills that will be useful throughout their lives. Identifying and achieving goals, improving communication and decision making skills, learning responsibility and helping others are some of the main objectives for the CITs. In addition, we will teach these young people how to effectively lead children in any setting. CIT’s are sixteen-years-old and are working to become better leaders, with the end goal, becoming a camp counselor!
Campers will have the chance to shadow actual counselors, help facilitate activities and participate in nearly every camp activity. Service work and involvement in the improvement of camp is a crucial part of this program.
Each session is ended with a magical, final campfire ceremony where campers are recognized for their participation and accomplishments. By excelling, CIT’s are in the running for receiving our elusive “Little Chief” Award…an honor in the Piomingo Community.
There will be two separate CIT sessions over the summer!
